Small Group Opportunities

Looking to connect with people outside of Sunday morning worship? Join us during the week for a small group and get to know people a little better. Fill out the form down below to let us know if you would like more information!

Small Groups- We offer a wide variety of small groups and book studies throughout the year, typically lasting four to six weeks, as a way to learn more about various topics associated with Christianity, but also as a means of connecting with others outside of Sunday morning worship.

Happier Hour- We believe that church is so much more than one hour on Sunday morning, so we meet up on Thursday evenings to see how you are really doing and how we can pray for each other. We meet on Thursday nights at 6 pm at Moxie (located in downtown Palm Springs at 262 S Palm Canyon Dr). This is a drop-in event, so no need to RSVP.

"The Sabbath"- Explore the Jewish practice, tradition, and scriptural understandings of God’s command to “remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.” There is so much to learn, talk about, and explore regarding our own ways of observing the very sacred container of time we call the sabbath. Book study begins September 4th @ 5:30 pm and will be co-lead by Pastor Jane Voigts and Rabbi David Lazar of Or Hamidbar Jewish Community. Click here to sign up.

Adult Sunday School- This drop-in style study meets every Sunday morning from 11:30 am to 12 pm in the Walker Smith building at church. There is no need to RSVP and no fear if you miss one (or several) weeks of the group. Each lesson will be independent and offer unique insight into the Bible, the songs we sing, current events, and a variety of other topics. Gatherings will be led by the Director of Christian Education, Jeremy Wells.

United Methodist Women- The United Methodist Women (UMW) meet on the first Wednesday of the month (from October through May) to discuss mission opportunities and to connect with each other on a more personal and spiritual basis. The next meeting will take place on November 6th at 10 am.

United Methodist Men- This group meets every Wednesday morning for breakfast at 7:15 am at Rick's Cafe , all are welcome (yes, even women!) In addition to breakfast, we will have time for devotion and for fellowship.

Sunday Night Live- This is the church's book group. Sunday Night Live is meeting now through Sunday, November 24th in the Walker Smith building from 5:30 to 7 pm. They are reading and discussing Days of Awe and Wonder: How to be a Christian in the 21st Century by Marcus Borg.
